All “Things” Gift Ideas

Grill/Smoker – A popular brand today is Traeger cause you can key in on a temperature and it’s more set it and forget it…but they can be on the pricey side. You could buy a cheaper, more traditional grill or smoker as an entry source into the hobby also. The benefit to this gift is you get to try his cooking experiments.

Full Size Helmet of favorite team – We are linking to a football helmet, but you’ll know which team/sport is his favorite. This is a really cool piece for the mantel, man cave, or desk at work.

VR Headset – This may come across as a more “nerdy” gift, but we feel like we see more enjoyment from bros. Especially now that there is a game called Pro Era that is very similar to the Madden games. If this doesn’t make sense to you — don’t worry it will to him.

Kayak – have water nearby? This a gift we think he’d love that he may not even know he wants…or he’s wanted for a long time and can’t justify buying it himself. We’re linking to an inflatable option to eliminate the need for buying anything special for transporting it.

Circular saw – this may seem like an odd choice, but this is the perfect saw type for someone you think may be flirting with wood working. It’s versatile…with enough jigs/attachments this can work like a table saw or a miter saw — two other saw types that tend to cost way more. The linked to brand is DeWalt which is well respected, but you can check to see if he has a preferred brand.

4-way neck workout – This one may surprise you, but a true bro actually wants their neck to be bigger. They may cloak it by saying they want to prevent injury/their neck hurts, but in reality they want a huge neck like Takeo Spikes. Did you just Google him — dude had to buy special shirts cause off-the-rack stuff wouldn’t fit him. Also, we’re linking to an entry level one from a brand that has a very expensive ~$500 version. This one listed is ~$40…he really wants the $500 one but he knows that’s crazy to buy himself or even expect for you to get…the cheaper one will do for now.

Pancake Compressor (with tools?) – Air compressors are powerful, versatile units your dude may want and not even know it. There are tons of tools that run on air, and getting him the compressor gets him into the game. And if worse comes to worse, then at least you have a steady source of air for your tires.

3d Printer – I know this may sound like a nerdy gift, but we actually know a lot of bros that constantly brag about their 3d printer. They can make pieces that will help around the house, and keep them from needing to go to Lowes/Home Depot.

Raspberry Pi (4) – a mini computer that he probably knows about even if you don’t. It’s way cheaper than a computer but can do really powerful stuff (like making a smart mirror, automated, robots, etc., etc., etc.)

Adult Lego Set – to be honest we didn’t realize how big and expensive these things can get, but that’s what makes it perfect — you can right-size this gift to your budget and to his interests. It’s one of those things your man wants, but may not want to admit he bought himself.

Laser Level – if he’s a nerdy, handyman this thing is addicting and cool. It lets you line up things around the house on different planes. This is another item that has a wide range in prices, so we’ve linked to a budget friendly one, but it goes way up from there. Our only advice is, make sure it has both planes.

Old School Arcade game – did you know you can buy these things on Amazon?? Can get quite expensive, especially if you buy the full size ones. The one linked to here is a 4 ft. model you’d likely have to put on a table. But if you happen to know his favorite childhood game, this could be a homerun gift.

Sous Vide – Nerdy cook in your life? These things are cool, you can bring anything up to a designated temperature and keep it there infinitely for quick finishing cooking while keeping everything juicy. These things used to be thousands of dollars and only available for restaurants, but now their cheap and available to the public.

Gallium – What??? You can buy this stuff on Amazon? It’s like mercury in how it behaves, but it’s not as dangerous. If you get this, I’d look into buying an aluminum lock and showing him this video, because it looks like a magic trick (if you don’t feel like watching, it literally turns certain other metals into play-doh consistency).

Woodworking air filtration – woodworking nerd in your life? This is another one, that’s a “love to have” but don’t want to spend my own money on…that makes it a perfect gift, and keeps him healthier in the long-term.

Phone (update to the newest model) – Does he have an old iPhone or Android phone. He probably justifies keeping the old one by saying the new features aren’t worth the cost; but deep down, he wants the new one.

Headphones (update to newest model) – same idea as the phone but will be the cheaper option. He’d keep the old ones until they broke, but the news ones have all the cool new shit!

Nice Mechanical Pencil – Did you know that there is a subreddit with ~47k people in it for Mechanical Pencils? These are cool little engineering marvels that you can use in your everyday life. If he’s not into the hobby now, he may be in the near future. The one we link to is a great pencil that could get the hobby juices flowing without breaking the bank for you.

New Custom Suit – we don’t recommend buying him one directly. Get a gift card, or set up a fitting for him at a local custom tailor. This would be one of the few clothing-related gifts that are truly exciting. Every dude wants to look sweet in a suit, but they don’t want to set up the custom fitting, let alone pay for the “extravagance” — “I’ll just get a crummy one off the rack”. DO NOT BUY THE SUIT ON THE LEFT, we just needed an image to use.
